Ondas Inc. has outlined how its Aerial Security portfolio could support state, local, tribal and territorial agencies under the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s expanded Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems grant programme. The company’s announcement was made on October 30, 2026, as the programme extends eligibility nationwide.

The FEMA initiative is the second phase of a $500 million federal commitment intended to strengthen domestic counter-drone capabilities. An initial $250 million allocation was directed to jurisdictions hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup and America 250 events.

The additional $250 million is available across all 50 states, five territories and the District of Columbia. FEMA has identified the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the nationwide Olympic torch relay as priorities.

The programme’s requirements include integrated drone detection and response, authorised mobile mitigation, rapid deployment, interoperable command-and-control and coordination between agencies operating across fixed venues and multiple jurisdictions.

Ondas’ Aerial Security offering includes Detect, Track and Identify systems, Cyber-over-RF mitigation, handheld and vehicle-mounted countermeasures, and command-and-control technology. The company also provides system integration, training and sustainment services.

Ondas said its Cyber-over-RF technology supported counter-UAS protection at a majority of the 2026 FIFA World Cup host stadiums in North America. The technology was also selected to protect Jacksonville Jaguars NFL games.

Within the portfolio, Sentrycs’ Cyber-over-RF technology supports the detection, identification and tracking of compatible unauthorised drones, as well as controlled mitigation without conventional jamming, according to the company.

U.S.-manufactured Dronebuster® handheld systems and vehicle-mounted kits provide additional non-kinetic mitigation capabilities. Ondas said more than 3,000 units have been delivered worldwide and that the systems have been deployed in over 50 countries.

DefenseOS® is described as an open command-and-control architecture intended to connect complementary detection and mitigation technologies.

#Company comments on public safety requirements

Eric Brock, Chairman and CEO of Ondas, said civilian airspace protection requires capabilities beyond drone detection. He said public safety agencies need systems that can identify threats, support appropriate responses and operate safely in complex environments.

Brock also said the company believes its experience supporting the FIFA World Cup and professional sports, together with its portfolio of defence-proven technologies, could help agencies develop counter-UAS capabilities as federal funding expands access to those systems.

#Participation in November forum

Ondas will participate in the 2nd Annual Countering the Threat: Drone Security Industry & SLTT Grant Forum on November 9, 2026. The event is hosted by the White House Task Force on the 2028 Summer Olympics, DRONERESPONDERS and the Commercial Drone Alliance.

As state, local, tribal and territorial agencies move from planning towards procurement, Ondas said it sees a growing commercial opportunity to provide integrated systems, training and support through its Aerial Security portfolio and operating infrastructure.
