BioLargo Announces Company-Owned barebird Brand for Pet and Household Odor Products
BioLargo has announced barebird, a company-owned consumer brand built around its CupriDyne odor-elimination technology and supported by teams previously involved with Pooph.
BioLargo, Inc. (OTCQX:BLGO) has announced barebird™, a company-owned consumer brand using its CupriDyne® technology for pet and household odor elimination. The initiative brings together BioLargo’s manufacturing capabilities with marketing teams that previously worked on the Pooph product line.
The initial barebird range consists of two fragrance-free, 32-ounce products. The Pet Odor Eliminator is intended for common household pet odors, while the Laundry Odor Eliminator is a 16-load additive for odors in clothing, towels and bedding. Two product bundles will also be available.
BioLargo says CupriDyne addresses odors through oxidation rather than masking them with fragrance. The technology was previously used in Pooph products. Household odor and cleaning products are planned to follow the initial pet and laundry range, although the announcement does not provide a release date for those products.
During BioLargo’s supply relationship with Pooph, the brand generated more than $125 million in sales of CupriDyne-based products, while BioLargo recognized more than $20 million in revenue under its supply agreement.
BioLargo states that those historical Pooph figures are not projections for barebird. Through its new brand, the company intends to participate more directly in consumer product revenue and develop a brand it owns, while assuming greater responsibility for marketing and distribution.
BioLargo has entered into agreements with a company led by Jordan Stanley and his team at Kindness Commerce, as well as with Prime Team Agency, led by CEO Brandon Fishman. Both teams were involved in marketing Pooph.
Kindness Commerce will handle social media, influencer and affiliate programmes, along with advertising content. Prime Team Agency will oversee advertising and storefront operations on Amazon and TikTok Shop.
The barebird products are expected to become available initially through the direct-to-consumer website at barebird.com in the coming days. Amazon and TikTok Shop storefronts are planned to follow.
BioLargo subsidiary ONM Environmental will oversee barebird manufacturing and coordinate production through its manufacturing arrangements. The subsidiary has experience with CupriDyne-based industrial products and consumer production at scale through co-packers since 2021.
BioLargo President and CEO Dennis Calvert said the company is combining its CupriDyne technology and manufacturing capabilities with teams experienced in bringing these products to consumers. Joe Provenzano, President and CEO of BioLargo CPG, said the launch approach draws on consumer purchasing experience in the category and that the company’s priority is execution as barebird is introduced and its reach expanded.
BioLargo describes itself as a cleantech and life sciences innovator and engineering services solution provider. Its areas of activity include PFAS contamination, water and wastewater treatment, odor and VOC control, air quality, energy efficiency, on-site energy storage and infection control. Its shares trade on OTCQX under the ticker symbol OTCQX:BLGO.
The company says its forward-looking statements involve risks and uncertainties, and that actual results may differ materially from future results expressed or implied. The risks it identifies include regional economic conditions and their effect on consumer and business purchasing decisions, competition and rapid technological change, the management of product introductions and customer demand, and dependence on distributor performance.
