374Water Inc. (NASDAQ:SCWO) has released an updated October 2026 investor presentation following the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s launch of its PFAS Technology, Evaluation, Coordination, and Harmonization Strategy. The EPA initiative identifies supercritical water oxidation as a technology for further testing and partnerships, while 374Water’s presentation outlines the company’s reported deployments and validation work for its AirSCWO system.
#EPA PFAS strategy includes supercritical water oxidation
The EPA launched the PFAS TECH Strategy on October 26, 2026. The agency’s programme is intended to accelerate the development and use of PFAS treatment and destruction technologies through funding, public-private partnerships and demonstrations.
The strategy covers potential work at Superfund sites, military facilities, wastewater treatment plants and drinking water systems. The EPA also plans to provide funding through its STAR and SBIR programmes.
374Water said its updated presentation was published on October 29, 2026, several days after the strategy was announced.
#AirSCWO performance and operating examples
The presentation cites an Army Corps of Engineers ERDC technical report, TR-26-19, authored and validated by Arcadis. According to the company, testing involving AFFF recorded 99.9993% total PFAS destruction and removal efficiency across 42 PFAS compounds.
374Water also says the treated effluent met EPA maximum contaminant levels for all regulated PFAS. Fluorinated stack emissions were described as near zero without secondary air-pollution abatement. The company reports that it has processed more than 200 waste types to date.
The presentation identifies examples across the settings included in the EPA strategy. These include a Waste Destruction Services hub at the City of Orlando’s Iron Bridge Water Reclamation Facility and a mobile AirSCWO campaign for the City of St. Cloud, MN. That campaign processed four feedstocks, including PFAS-laden spent GAC.
For drinking-water applications, 374Water says AirSCWO is designed to process spent GAC and ion exchange resin, which utilities are installing to meet EPA’s 4 ppt limits for PFOA and PFOS.
#Business model and system formats
374Water describes three routes for its waste-treatment business: fee-for-service Waste Destruction Facilities, mobile Waste Destruction Services campaigns at customer sites, and AirSCWO system sales and operations.
The company’s presentation distinguishes between mobile systems for on-site campaigns and modular, scalable systems for permanent sites and hubs. 374Water says the modular design supports easier maintenance, larger scaling, more cost effective operations and faster research and development.
The company also says its mobile system has the same full destruction capability as its installed systems and can be deployed rapidly and remain at a customer site until the work is complete.
#AFFF and biosolids issues cited in presentation
The presentation estimates that roughly 10 million gallons of AFFF are awaiting destruction. The stockpiles are held by the Department of Defense, refineries, airports, fire departments and the merchant fleet, with phase-out deadlines between 2026 and 2029.
374Water also highlights biosolids as an area of potential demand. Its presentation says U.S. wastewater plants produce about 16,000 dry tons of biosolids a day, while land application accounts for 46% of the outlet.
The company notes that Maine and Connecticut have banned land application, while Virginia will restrict it from July 2027 based on PFOS and PFOA levels. It also says regional coalitions in California, Florida, South Carolina and Michigan are forming to address the issue at scale.
#Planned California deployment
374Water CEO Danny Bogar said the company’s Orange County, California system was scheduled for deployment in November. He also said the company expected to work with the EPA, the Department of Defense and utility partners as the PFAS TECH Strategy moves from strategy to deployment.
