RenX Announces St. Petersburg Contract Extension Through January 31, 2027
RenX Enterprises says St. Petersburg has extended Zimmer Equipment’s brush and yard waste hauling contract through January 31, 2027. The company reported more than 4,100 loads since January 2023, while noting the extension has no minimum volume commitment and does not assure a future award.
RenX Enterprises Corp. (NASDAQ:RENX) said the City of St. Petersburg, Florida, has extended the municipal hauling contract held by its wholly owned subsidiary, Zimmer Equipment Inc. (ZEI), through January 31, 2027. The agreement covers the collection and transport of the city’s brush and yard waste.
#More than 4,100 loads transported since January 2023
RenX said ZEI has held the contract for approximately five years. Since January 2023, ZEI trucks have transported more than 4,100 loads of brush and yard waste, representing more than 20 truckloads a week on average.
The material is delivered to RenX’s permitted 80+ acre organics processing facility in Myakka City, Florida. The company’s Resource Group subsidiary processes the material into compost and mulch products.
RenX said the load count comes from ZEI’s invoicing and ticket records. It is unaudited operating data, includes periods before RenX acquired ZEI in June 2025, and is not a measure of revenue or profitability.
St. Petersburg extended the current arrangement while it prepares a new competitive solicitation for the services. The company said the city expects to advertise the solicitation in the coming weeks, and ZEI intends to submit a proposal.
The extension does not commit the city to any minimum volume. RenX also said there is no assurance that ZEI will receive a contract under the new solicitation. The company’s cautionary statement further notes that the city controls the volume, timing and location of loads and may terminate or modify the contract.
Under the arrangement, ZEI is paid for hauling the material, while the same material is used as feedstock at the Myakka City facility for products sold by RenX. The company described the contract as combining its logistics and organics-processing activities.
RenX identifies its business as environmental processing and sustainable materials production, with a focus on compost, engineered soils and specialty growing media for agricultural, commercial and consumer markets. The company says its processing platform includes advanced milling and material-processing technology, including its licensed Microtec system.
RenX said future activity under the current or any successor contract could be affected by the timing and outcome of the city’s solicitation, including the possibility of a delay, no award to ZEI, or terms, scope or pricing that differ from the existing arrangement.
The company also identified potential effects from seasonal, weather-related and storm-driven changes in brush and yard waste volumes; the recruitment and retention of CDL-licensed drivers; the availability, condition and financing of equipment; fuel, insurance, maintenance and other operating costs; regulatory compliance; and the timing of city payments.
Other factors cited by RenX include liquidity and working-capital requirements, debt maturities, its ability to continue as a going concern and maintain its Nasdaq listing, reliance on third-party technologies and partners, the availability and cost of feedstock, market acceptance of engineered growing media and bulk materials, real estate monetization efforts, and broader economic and geopolitical conditions.
RenX Enterprises Corp. announced that the City of St. Petersburg, Florida has extended the contract held by its wholly owned logistics subsidiary, Zimmer Equipment Inc. (ZEI), to haul the City’s brush and yard waste through January 31, 2027. The extension does not commit the City to any minimum volume, and there is no assurance that ZEI will be awarded a contract under the City’s planned new solicitation.
RenX Enterprises Corp. announced the extension on October 28, 2026, and the extended contract runs through January 31, 2027. ZEI has held the contract for approximately five years.
ZEI trucks have carried more than 4,100 loads of the City’s brush and yard waste since January 2023. The company said this represented more than 20 truckloads a week on average, but the load count is unaudited operating data and is not a measure of revenue or profitability.
ZEI takes the material to RenX Enterprises Corp.’s permitted 80+ acre organics processing facility in Myakka City, Florida. The Company’s Resource Group subsidiary grinds and screens the material into compost and mulch products that RenX sells.
ZEI is paid to haul each load, while the same material arrives at RenX Enterprises Corp.’s Myakka City facility as feedstock for products the Company sells. RenX described this as combining weekly customer invoicing from the hauling business with a feedstock stream that customers pay the Company to receive.
The City is preparing a new competitive solicitation for the services and expects to advertise it in the coming weeks. ZEI intends to submit a proposal, but there is no assurance that it will be awarded a contract under the new solicitation.
No, the extension does not commit the City to any minimum volume. The City retains discretion over the volume, timing and location of loads tendered under the contract, according to the Company’s cautionary statement.
Chief Executive Officer David Villarreal said the contract shows the Company’s model in a single truck: ZEI is paid to haul the loads, and the material is then processed into compost and mulch for sale. He also said the City is going back out to bid and that ZEI’s goal is to earn the next contract.
RenX Enterprises Corp. is a technology-driven environmental processing and sustainable materials company focused on producing value-added compost, engineered soils and specialty growing media for agricultural, commercial and consumer end markets. Its operations are anchored by the permitted 80+ acre organics processing facility in Myakka City, Florida, and the Company also owns legacy real estate assets that it intends to monetise to fund its core platform.
RenX Enterprises Corp. says its platform uses advanced milling and material-processing technology, including its licensed Microtec system, to size, refine and condition organic inputs into soil substrates. The Company says its approach is intended to support the manufacture of engineered growing media with repeatable quality and defined specifications.
The load count is operating data derived from ZEI’s invoicing and ticket records, includes periods before RenX Enterprises Corp. acquired ZEI in June 2025, and is unaudited. The Company said it is not a measure of revenue or profitability, and its cautionary statement says it is not indicative of future activity under the contract or any successor contract.
RenX Enterprises Corp. is identified in the announcement as trading on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol NASDAQ:RENX.
