Ameriwest Critical Metals Inc. (CSE:AWCM, OTCQB:AWLIF, FSE:5HV) has reported additional modern assay results from preserved historical drill core at its 100%-owned Bornite copper-gold-silver project in Oregon. Results from hole CC30 included a 110.0-foot (33.5-meter) interval grading 5.87% Copper Equivalent (CuEq), with a higher-grade section of 71.0 feet (21.6 meters) grading 8.08% CuEq.

The broader interval runs from a depth of 250.0 feet to 360.0 feet (76.2 meters to 109.7 meters). The included higher-grade section extends from 269.0 feet to 340.0 feet (82.0 meters to 103.6 meters).

Ameriwest said modern copper grades were approximately 6% higher than the corresponding historical grades across both the 110.0-foot (33.5-meter) interval and the included 71.0-foot (21.6-meter) interval. The reported lengths are downhole measurements, and true widths are currently unknown.

#Historical core re-sampling programme

The results form part of a seven-hole programme examining preserved historical core drilled at Bornite between 1976 and 1990. Ameriwest is taking new quarter-core samples from remaining half-core and submitting them for modern laboratory analysis. The work also includes multi-element testing intended to assess other metals associated with the mineralised system.

CC30 is the third historical hole reported under the current programme, following results from CC24 and CC26. Results from four additional historical holes remain pending.

The company said the programme is being used to compare modern and historical assay data and assess the reliability, consistency and limitations of the historical drilling database. Significant historical drill intercepts were released by Ameriwest in a June 3, 2026, press release.

#Bornite geological context

Ameriwest describes Bornite as hosting copper-gold-silver mineralisation mainly associated with bornite and chalcopyrite within a steeply oriented breccia pipe. Historical exploration and preliminary modelling have identified a higher-grade copper-bearing breccia and fractured shell near the pipe perimeter, a lower-grade mineralised interior and sheeted vein mineralisation in surrounding rock.

The company has previously completed a preliminary 3D geological model using the historical drilling database. It said the modern assays are intended to provide additional information on the characteristics and distribution of mineralisation. Further work is required to establish the extent, continuity and potential economic significance of the mineralised zones.

#CuEq methodology and project limitations

Ameriwest calculated the reported CuEq grades using a Cu price of US$6.40 per pound, an Au price of US$4,500 per ounce and an Ag price of US$75 per ounce. The calculation used recovery assumptions of 95% for copper, 90% for gold and 95% for silver, based on historical metallurgical test work.

The company said the underlying 1992 analysis and report predated National Instrument 43-101 (NI 43-101) and CIM standards and had not been verified by an independent Qualified Person. No current mineral resources or mineral reserves have been established at Bornite, and no economic viability has been demonstrated.

#Planned technical work

Ameriwest’s stated priorities include reporting further assay results as appropriate, comparing historical and modern data, updating geological interpretations, reviewing multi-element results and continuing technical planning and permitting for potential future drilling.

Upon completion of the Re-sampling Program and relevant verification work, the Company intends to assess the additional technical work required to support the possible preparation of an initial current mineral resource estimate in accordance with National Instrument 43-101 (NI 43-101) and CIM Definition Standards. Additional drilling and other technical studies may be necessary, and there can be no assurance that a current mineral resource will be established.

#Key Takeaways

  • Hole CC30 returned 110.0 feet (33.5 meters) grading 5.87% CuEq.
  • The interval included 71.0 feet (21.6 meters) grading 8.08% CuEq.
  • Modern copper grades were approximately 6% higher than corresponding historical grades over both reported intervals.
  • Four additional historical holes remain pending in the seven-hole re-sampling programme.
  • Bornite has no established current mineral resource or mineral reserve, and no economic viability has been demonstrated.
