Ameriwest Reports Initial Modern Assay Results from Historical Bornite Core
Ameriwest has reported initial modern assay results from two historical drill holes at its Bornite Cu-Au-Ag project in Oregon, with results from five additional holes pending.
Ameriwest Critical Metals Inc. has announced initial modern assay results from selected preserved core at its 100%-owned Bornite Cu-Au-Ag project in Oregon. The results cover historical drill holes CC24 and CC26 and include multiple copper-equivalent intervals, while assays from five additional holes in the seven-hole programme remain pending.
Hole CC24 returned 190.0 feet grading 5.59% Copper Equivalent (CuEq) from 230.0 feet to 420.0 feet. This interval included 170.0 feet at 6.17% CuEq from 250.0 feet to 420.0 feet.
At hole CC26, Ameriwest reported 190.0 feet at 3.26% CuEq from 270.0 feet to 460.0 feet, including 160.0 feet at 3.74% CuEq from 290.0 feet to 450.0 feet.
The same hole also produced a 270-foot interval grading 1.27% CuEq from 520.0 feet to 790.0 feet. Within that interval were 20 feet at 1.71% CuEq from 530.0 feet to 550.0 feet, 20.0 feet at 1.89% CuEq from 600.0 feet to 620.0 feet, and 30 feet at 4.73% CuEq from 750.0 to 780.0 feet.
All reported intervals are downhole lengths, and true widths are currently unknown.
Ameriwest said the initial modern analyses showed higher copper, gold and silver values on average in the tested material. CuEq values were up to 28% higher within certain intervals than those in the historical database, although the company said the sample size is too small to establish whether the apparent difference is statistically significant.
For CC26 over the 270.0-foot to 740.0-foot interval, the historical results were 1.18% Cu, 0.005 opt Au and 0.216 opt Ag, equivalent to 1.56% CuEq. The modern results for the same interval were 1.29% Cu, 0.005 opt Au and 0.300 opt Ag, or 1.75% CuEq.
The modern work also identified a 40.0-foot interval from 750.0 feet to 790.0 feet that met the 0.5% CuEq cut-off. Ameriwest said this section had not previously been assayed in historical hole CC26.
The programme is intended to test the reliability and consistency of historical copper, gold and silver assay information. Selected sections of preserved historical core, originally drilled between 1976 and 1990, were cut into quarter-core samples and sent for modern laboratory analysis. The work also includes expanded multi-element testing, certified reference materials and laboratory quality-control procedures.
Bornite mineralisation is principally associated with bornite and chalcopyrite within a steeply oriented breccia pipe. Ameriwest’s preliminary geological modelling has identified a higher-grade copper-bearing shell near the pipe’s perimeter, a lower-grade interior and sheeted vein mineralisation in the surrounding rock.
No current mineral resource or mineral reserve has been established at Bornite, and no economic viability has been demonstrated. Ameriwest said the extent, continuity and economic significance of the mineralised domains require further work.
Ameriwest plans to review assay results from the remaining five historical drill holes and compare the modern data with the historical database. The company also intends to continue geological modelling, assess broader multi-element results and undertake technical and permitting work for potential drilling.
Ameriwest said this work will be used to assess the requirements for preparing an initial current mineral resource estimate under NI 43-101 and CIM Definition Standards. Additional drilling and other technical work may be necessary.
Significant historical drill intercepts were released by Ameriwest in a June 3, 2026, press release, including Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) information from that time.
Ameriwest Critical Metals Inc. announced initial modern assay results from re-sampling and assaying preserved historical drill core at its 100%-owned Bornite Cu-Au-Ag project in Oregon. The results cover two historical drill holes, CC24 and CC26, with results from five additional holes expected to follow.
Ameriwest Critical Metals Inc. announced the results on October 14, 2026. The historical drill holes were originally drilled between 1976 and 1990, and the announcement covers modern assays from selected intervals of preserved core from holes CC24 and CC26.
Ameriwest Critical Metals Inc. reported 190.0 feet grading 5.59% Copper Equivalent (CuEq) in hole CC24, from a depth of 230.0 feet to 420.0 feet. This included 170.0 feet of 6.17% CuEq from a depth of 250.0 feet to 420.0 feet.
Ameriwest Critical Metals Inc. said the initial modern geochemical results showed, on average, higher numbers for copper, gold and silver, with CuEq values of up to 28% higher within certain intervals versus the historical database. The company cautioned that the sample size remains too small to determine whether this trend is statistically significant.
For the same interval from 270.0 feet to 740.0 feet, Ameriwest Critical Metals Inc. reported historical assays of 1.18% Cu, 0.005 opt Au and 0.216 opt Ag, or 1.56% CuEq, compared with modern assays of 1.29% Cu, 0.005 opt Au and 0.300 opt Ag, or 1.75% CuEq. The company also said the modern programme identified an interval from 750.0 feet to 790.0 feet that met the 0.5% CuEq cut-off, while that interval had not previously been assayed in historic hole CC26.
Ameriwest Critical Metals Inc. is cutting the remaining half-core into quarter-core samples and submitting selected intervals for laboratory analysis. The programme includes modern copper, gold and silver analyses, expanded multi-element analysis, certified reference materials and laboratory quality-control procedures.
Ameriwest Critical Metals Inc. said Bornite hosts copper-gold-silver mineralisation principally associated with bornite and chalcopyrite within a steeply oriented breccia pipe. Its preliminary geological modelling has identified a historically higher-grade copper-bearing shell near the perimeter, a lower-grade mineralised interior and sheeted vein mineralisation in the surrounding rock.
David Watkinson, President and CEO of Ameriwest Critical Metals Inc., described the initial results as encouraging and said they represented a strong start to the re-sampling programme. He also said the results reinforced the company’s confidence in Bornite’s potential, while linking the timing of the work to copper prices trading near historic highs and forecast global demand growth.
Ameriwest Critical Metals Inc. said no current mineral resource or mineral reserve has been established at Bornite and no economic viability has been demonstrated. The company said the extent, continuity and economic significance of the mineralised domains require further work.
Ameriwest Critical Metals Inc. plans to obtain and review results from the remaining five historical drill holes, compare historical and modern data, advance geological modelling and assess broader multi-element results. The company also plans technical and permitting work for potential drilling, and said additional drilling and other technical work may be necessary before assessing the requirements for an initial current mineral resource estimate under NI 43-101 and CIM Definition Standards.
Ameriwest Critical Metals Inc. is identified in the announcement as trading on the Canadian Securities Exchange under CSE:AWCM, on the OTCQB under OTCQB:AWLIF and on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under FSE:5HV.
