Rocky Shore Reports MTH Zone Discovery and Plans 20,000-Metre Gold Anchor Drill Program
Rocky Shore Gold reported the MTH Zone discovery east of the Mosquito Deposit in central Newfoundland and outlined plans to expand drilling at Gold Anchor to 20,000 metres.
Rocky Shore Gold Ltd. reported the discovery of the MTH Zone at its Gold Anchor Project in central Newfoundland, along with new drilling results from the Mosquito Deposit. The company said the newly identified zone extends gold mineralisation beyond the current Mosquito resource limits and that its exploration programme will increase to 20,000 metres.
The MTH Zone is located in a previously undrilled area immediately east of the Mosquito Deposit resource limits. Drilling encountered a thick, sulphide-rich tuffaceous sedimentary horizon associated with a large geophysical anomaly.
Rocky Shore said the zone remains open in all directions. Drilling has traced it from the eastern edge of the Mosquito Deposit to more than 400 metres east of the current resource limits.
Confirmation drilling within the existing Mosquito Deposit resource limits produced what Rocky Shore described as the highest-grade interval to date within the deposit. Hole MH-26-02 returned 94.10m grading 0.77 g/t Au, including 2.50m grading 7.88 g/t Au.
Other reported Mosquito results were 33.20m grading 1.07 g/t Au, including 6.20m grading 2.01 g/t Au, in MH-26-01; 59.20m grading 0.49 g/t Au, including 11.00m grading 1.00 g/t Au, in MH-26-03; and 19.87m grading 0.41 g/t Au, including 1.10m grading 2.46 g/t Au, in MH-26-04.
Rocky Shore said more than 60% of the interpreted intrusion associated with the Mosquito Deposit remains untested by drilling. The company also said the Mosquito Deposit and MTH Zone may be part of a larger and more complex bulk-scale mineralised system extending beyond the current resource limits.
President and CEO Ken Lapierre said the MTH results had broadened the company’s interpretation of the Gold Anchor system. He said the decision to increase drilling to 20,000 metres would support further evaluation of the project’s scale while significant areas remain untested.
Assays from MH-26-09 to MH-26-13 were pending at the time of the announcement. Samples are being submitted to Eastern Analytical Ltd. in Springdale, Newfoundland, an independent ISO 17025 Certified Analytical Testing Facility. The company said its quality-control process includes 1 blank and 1 Certified Reference Material for every 18 samples.
Rocky Shore is a Canadian junior explorer focused on the Gold Anchor and Rocky Pond VMS projects in central Newfoundland. Gold Anchor covers more than 1,200-square-kilometre and includes the Mosquito and Reid gold deposits, the MTH Zone and other exploration targets. Rocky Pond is located in the Roberts Arm VMS Belt and includes the Handcamp VMS Zone and copper-rich VMS showings along a 40-kilometre trend.
The company’s announcement included forward-looking information subject to risks related to exploration results, future commodity prices, regulatory changes, permitting timelines, environmental matters, technical difficulties, financing requirements, title issues, economic conditions and changes to project plans. Rocky Shore said actual results may differ from those expressed or implied by that information.
Rocky Shore Gold Ltd. announced the discovery of the MTH Zone at its Gold Anchor Project in central Newfoundland, alongside results from confirmation drilling at the Mosquito Deposit. The company also reported that it is increasing its drilling programme to 20,000 metres.
Rocky Shore Gold Ltd. announced the discovery on 26 October 2026. The announcement covers drilling results from the MTH Zone and the Mosquito Deposit at the Gold Anchor Project.
The MTH Zone is a thick, sulphide-rich, gold-bearing tuffaceous sedimentary horizon in a previously undrilled area immediately east of the Mosquito Deposit resource limits. Rocky Shore Gold Ltd. said the zone is associated with a large geophysical anomaly and remains open in all directions.
Rocky Shore Gold Ltd. said drilling has traced the MTH Zone from the eastern limit of the Mosquito Deposit to more than 400 metres east of the current resource limits. The company said this expands the known footprint of gold mineralisation beyond those limits.
Rocky Shore Gold Ltd. reported 154.78m grading 0.34 g/t Au, including 11.40m grading 1.01 g/t Au, in MH-26-05; 50.00m grading 1.01 g/t Au, including 4.70m grading 2.75 g/t Au, in MH-26-06; 90.65m grading 0.33 g/t Au, including 14.90m grading 0.83 g/t Au, in MH-26-07; and 48.90m grading 0.73 g/t Au, including 6.65m grading 1.65 g/t Au, in MH-26-08. The company said reported drill-hole thicknesses are estimated to approximate true thickness based on its current geological interpretation.
Rocky Shore Gold Ltd. reported 94.10m grading 0.77 g/t Au, including 2.50m grading 7.88 g/t Au, in hole MH-26-02. The company described this as the highest-grade interval to date within the Mosquito Deposit.
Rocky Shore Gold Ltd. reported 33.20m grading 1.07 g/t Au, including 6.20m grading 2.01 g/t Au, in MH-26-01; 59.20m grading 0.49 g/t Au, including 11.00m grading 1.00 g/t Au, in MH-26-03; and 19.87m grading 0.41 g/t Au, including 1.10m grading 2.46 g/t Au, in MH-26-04. The company said these reported drill-hole thicknesses are estimated to approximate true thickness based on its current geological interpretation.
Rocky Shore Gold Ltd. said the Mosquito Deposit and MTH Zone may form part of a larger and more complex bulk-scale mineralised system extending beyond the current resource limits. The company also said more than 60% of the interpreted intrusion associated with the Mosquito Deposit remains untested by drilling.
President and CEO Ken Lapierre said the MTH Zone indicates that gold mineralisation extends beyond the current resource limits into a broader mineralised setting. He described increasing the programme to 20,000 metres as the next step while the company evaluates the scale of Gold Anchor, while noting that significant portions of the system remain untested.
No, assays from MH-26-09 to MH-26-13 are pending. The company said a complete record of drill results is provided in its drill-hole summary and Table 1.

For every 18 samples, the company includes 1 blank and 1 Certified Reference Material, and gold analysis uses a 30 g sample subjected to fire assay, aqua regia digestion and atomic absorption analysis.
Rocky Shore Gold Ltd. said its forward-looking information is subject to risks including exploration results, future commodity prices, regulatory changes, political and economic developments, environmental risks, permitting timelines, capital expenditures and technical difficulties. It also identified the speculative nature of mineral-resource exploration, uncertainty over additional financing, future capital needs, title contests, global economic and financial market conditions, and changes in project parameters as plans continue to be evaluated.
