Modular Medical launches digital education tools for Pivot insulin delivery system
Modular Medical has launched two digital education resources with Relevate Health Games to help prospective users learn about the Pivot tubeless patch pump before formal onboarding.
Modular Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ:MODD) has launched two digital education resources intended to help people with diabetes become familiar with insulin pump therapy before formal training on the company’s Pivot™ tubeless patch pump.
Developed with Relevate Health Games, the tools use interactive, game-based content to introduce prospective users to basic pump-related tasks and help healthcare providers assess interest and readiness for pump therapy.
The first resource provides a virtual walkthrough of the Pivot insulin delivery system. The experience takes approximately 15 minutes and covers unpacking the system, preparing and applying the pump, and understanding its basic operating functions.
Modular Medical first previewed the Pivot module at the ADCES 2025 Annual Conference in August 2025. Chief Executive Officer Jeb Besser said the company developed the resources in response to uncertainty that can make some patients hesitant to begin insulin pump therapy.
The digital experience is optional and is intended to support, rather than replace, formal instruction from healthcare professionals or Modular Medical. It is not part of the FDA-required training programme for the Pivot insulin delivery system.
Healthcare providers may use the platform to review a patient’s interest in pump therapy and ability to complete basic operational tasks associated with insulin delivery devices. The company said the experience may also offer information about patient engagement, learning readiness and willingness to consider moving from multiple daily injections to another insulin delivery approach.
Modular Medical and Relevate Health Games are also introducing a Pivot module within Level One: A Diabetes Game, a free Type 1 diabetes education game available through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Level One was launched in April 2025 and had recorded more than 53,000 downloads, according to the announcement. The game is supported by Breakthrough T1D and Beyond Type 1.
Its existing content focuses on bolus insulin delivery and the relationship between food intake and mealtime dosing. Players work through concepts including carbohydrate counting, meal planning and decisions about mealtime insulin.
After learning those fundamentals, players can apply the same types of decisions using the Pivot pump. The module is intended to show how the device relates to previously introduced dosing concepts and how pump therapy may fit into routine diabetes care. It does not provide individualised dosing recommendations and does not replace advice from a healthcare professional.
Modular Medical is a commercial-stage medical device company developing insulin delivery technologies intended to simplify diabetes management and increase access to insulin pump therapy. Its Pivot system is a tubeless patch pump designed for people requiring intensive insulin therapy, including those currently managing diabetes with multiple daily injections.
Relevate Health Games, formerly known as Level Ex, develops medical video games for patients and clinicians. Amir Lotan, group vice president at Relevate Health Games, said the collaboration extends the company’s approach of using play to build understanding and confidence around healthcare technologies.
Modular Medical announced the launch of two digital education resources intended to help people with diabetes build familiarity with insulin therapy before formal training on its Pivot™ tubeless patch pump. The tools were developed with Relevate Health Games and use game-based technology to introduce skills associated with insulin pump therapy.
The resources are designed to help prospective users become familiar with pump therapy before formal onboarding and to help reduce barriers to adoption. Modular Medical said the tools are intended to support patient confidence, adoption and retention, although their anticipated benefits are subject to the risks and uncertainties identified in the company’s forward-looking statements.
The first module provides a virtual, hands-on walkthrough of the Pivot insulin delivery system. In approximately 15 minutes, users can visualise how to unpack and prepare the system, apply the pump and understand its basic operational functions.

Modular Medical and Relevate Health Games are launching a Pivot module inside Level One: A Diabetes Game, a free Type 1 diabetes education game available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. The module builds on the game’s existing education about mealtime insulin dosing by showing how those dosing decisions relate to the Pivot pump.
Relevate Health Games said Level One: A Diabetes Game had been downloaded more than 53,000 times since its launch in April 2025. The game is supported by Breakthrough T1D and Beyond Type 1, according to the announcement.
The game’s core gameplay covers bolus insulin delivery in relation to food intake, including carbohydrate counting, meal planning and mealtime dosing decisions. The new Pivot module is intended to build on those concepts, but it does not provide individualised dosing recommendations or replace guidance from a healthcare professional.
