Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ:LEXX) has entered into an Agreement with an unidentified pharmaceutical company to assess its patented DehydraTECH drug-delivery technology using one or more proprietary molecules supplied by the company.

Announced on November 4, 2026, the arrangement covers an initial evaluation programme. Lexaria said the new Agreement is separate from and unrelated to its two existing Material Transfer Agreements with other pharmaceutical companies.

#How the evaluation will work

Under the arrangement, the pharmaceutical company, identified by Lexaria as “PharmCo”, will provide one or more proprietary molecules. Lexaria will process those molecules using DehydraTECH and evaluate the resulting formulations.

Lexaria has not disclosed PharmCo’s identity or the specific provisions of the Agreement, following a request from the pharmaceutical company.

#Potential licensing discussions

Lexaria said that a successful evaluation could lead the parties to consider a licensing agreement containing customary commercial terms, including economic provisions. No licensing agreement has been announced.

The company intends to issue an update after the contemplated initial study or studies are completed. That update is expected to address whether the parties have made decisions concerning technology licensing or other business matters.

#Role of Liberi Group

Lexaria said Liberi Group introduced the companies. Liberi Group is a life sciences and biotechnology business development consultancy working with Lexaria on its DehydraTECH partnering strategy.

#DehydraTECH and company background

Lexaria describes DehydraTECH as an oral drug-delivery formulation and processing platform. The company says the technology has repeatedly shown the ability to increase bio-absorption, reduce side-effects and help some drugs cross the blood-brain barrier more effectively.

Lexaria operates a licensed in-house research laboratory and said its intellectual property portfolio includes 70 patents granted, along with additional patents pending worldwide.

#Risks and limitations

Lexaria said statements concerning its research work, regulatory approvals and possible study outcomes are forward-looking and subject to risks and uncertainties. The company said there is no assurance that its plans, intentions or expectations will be achieved.

Risks identified by Lexaria include government regulation and regulatory approvals, scientific discovery, the patent application and approval process, potential adverse effects associated with testing or using products involving DehydraTECH, maintaining existing collaborations, and delays or cancellations affecting planned research and development.

Lexaria also stated that no statement in the announcement had been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. It said there is no assurance that any proposed uses, benefits or advantages of the patented and patent-pending technology will be realised.
