DataMEDS AI, Inc. (NASDAQ:MEDS) has announced a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding with a Florida-based health maintenance organisation to introduce its Health Lives Here mobile application to the HMO’s members. The HMO’s identity has not been disclosed at its request, and the arrangement remains subject to definitive agreements.

#Initial focus on GLP-1 treatment support

The proposed programme would initially support members taking GLP-1 receptor agonist medications, with a focus on obesity and diabetes populations. Health Lives Here is intended to provide access to telehealth, pharmacy and laboratory testing services.

DataMEDS says the programme aims to support medication adherence and improve Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set measures and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services star ratings. The company also identifies reducing hospitalisations and adverse drug events among patients receiving GLP-1 therapy as objectives.

#HMO membership and engagement plans

The HMO serves Medicare Advantage members, including Chronic Special Needs Plan and Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan beneficiaries. It expects to have between 25,000 and 30,000 members for 2027 after open enrollment closes on December 8, 2026.

NFL Alumni Health, which DataMEDS describes as a strategic marketing partner for Health Lives Here, expects to assist with member health engagement activities. DataMEDS has identified compliance with CMS Medicare marketing and communications requirements and Federal Trade Commission endorsement guidance as considerations for those activities.

#Proposed commercial structure

Under the proposed arrangement, DataMEDS would receive revenue through a ‘per member per month’ model for use of Health Lives Here by HMO members. An additional GLP-1 receptor agonist drug patient management programme could provide another revenue stream.

The company also identifies possible opportunities involving pharmacy dispensing, diagnostic laboratory testing and medical food products. Corexa Pharmacy, DataMEDS’ retail pharmacy, is in-network with the HMO’s pharmacy benefits manager and Medicare. DataMEDS’ Helomics diagnostic laboratory is in-network with Medicare.

#Definitive agreements and rollout timing

The companies expect to execute definitive agreements in the fourth quarter of 2026 and begin introducing the application to members in the first quarter of 2027. The MOU is non-binding and is subject to those definitive agreements.

DataMEDS has also identified uncertainties involving rollout timing, PMPM pricing, member uptake and engagement, programme results and NFL Alumni Health’s participation. Other risks cited by the company include regulatory compliance, possible additional revenue opportunities, related-party arrangements with Tollo Health, LLC, reliance on a single initial payer customer, competition, Nasdaq listing compliance, liquidity, capital resources and its ability to fund operations.

#DataMEDS AI platform background

DataMEDS AI describes itself as a healthcare company integrating technology, pharmacy, pharmaceutical-adjacent and telemedicine operations through health information technology platforms. Health Lives Here incorporates the company’s EinsteinRx artificial intelligence platform and PharmacyChain blockchain-enabled smart contracts platform.

The company’s Corexa Health subsidiary provides pharmacy dispensing and related services, while DataMEDS also owns Helomics Corporation, a commercial clinical molecular diagnostics laboratory based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Gerald Commissiong, Interim Co-CEO of DataMEDS, said the proposed arrangement would give the company its first corporate customer and help it refine Health Lives Here for payors. His comments were part of the company’s announcement and were made in the context of its plans for the platform.
