CanCambria Energy Corp. (TSXV: CCEC) (FSE: 4JH) (OTCQB: CCEYF) has identified a shallow exploration trend covering 350 km² in the northern part of its Kiskunhalas Concession Area in southern Hungary. The company is evaluating leads and prospects interpreted from older 2D seismic data, but the area has not yet been covered by modern 3D seismic and no discovery has been confirmed.

#Exploration trend identified from legacy seismic

The identified area covers approximately 350 km² (86,500 acres) and is being assessed for both conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon accumulations. CanCambria says multiple leads and prospects have been mapped using legacy 2D seismic surveys.

MS Energy Solutions Ltd. has been retained to conduct a regional desktop study covering historical oil and gas fields in and around the concession. The work includes licensing and interpreting approximately 500 km of 2D seismic data.

CanCambria is also reviewing more than twenty historical oil and gas fields within and adjacent to the Kiskunhalas Concession Area. The company says these fields have collectively produced over 160 million BOE.

#Geological setting and historical production

The company says potential targets occur in several productive stratigraphic intervals at average depths of 1,800 meters. These include the Pannonian, Badenian, Miocene, Cretaceous, Triassic and naturally fractured Precambrian units.

The prospects are interpreted as possible satellite accumulations linked to discoveries made during the 1960s and 1970s. CanCambria describes the interpreted model as a series of accumulations along a broader structural trend, although the source does not confirm commercial volumes or recoverable resources for the company’s acreage.

The historical production data is described as analogous information from publicly available sources. CanCambria cautions that it is not an estimate of reserves, resources or asset characteristics attributable to its properties, may be inaccurate or erroneous, and may not reflect results from wells the company could drill or complete.

#Planned 3D seismic programme

Based on its internal studies, CanCambria says it intends to acquire proprietary 3D seismic data to help define the size, geometry and risk profile of the identified prospects.

After the data has been acquired, processed and interpreted alongside geological modelling, the company says it hopes to drill and test the most prospective shallow targets. The company has not provided a completed drilling schedule.

CanCambria says the contractual obligations under the Technical Operating Plan announced on March 5, 2026 have no capital commitments or deadlines in 2026. It may choose to accelerate the exploration programme based on recent commodity price changes. The company said a timeline would be updated in the coming weeks.

CanCambria expects to provide prospective resource disclosure in an N.I. 51-101 report after the new 3D seismic volumes are available and the number, size and risk of the opportunities have been defined.

#Regional activity and portfolio context

Recent 3D seismic acquisition directly north of the Kiskunhalas Concession Area, within the Kiskőrös Concession Area operated by MOL Group, is cited by CanCambria as evidence of ongoing exploration activity in the surrounding region. CanCambria also referred to MOL Group’s September 10, 2025 announcement of Hungarian drilling results that included an oil discovery with initial rates of 1,000 bbl/d.

CanCambria says its portfolio includes lower-cost, near-term oil-weighted production potential and a contingent mid-term tight gas development opportunity. The company said it remains focused on the deep tight gas resource while assessing the shallow fairway.

The proposed exploration work is forward-looking and remains subject to the company’s ability to conduct the planned seismic, modelling and drilling activities. CanCambria states that these plans may not be carried out as contemplated, or at all, and are subject to risks, uncertainties and assumptions beyond its control.

#Key Takeaways

  • CanCambria has identified a shallow exploration trend covering 350 km² (86,500 acres) in northern Kiskunhalas, southern Hungary.
  • Multiple leads and prospects were interpreted from legacy 2D seismic data; modern 3D seismic is not currently available across the area.
  • MS Energy Solutions Ltd. is reviewing approximately 500 km of 2D seismic data and more than twenty historical fields.
  • CanCambria intends to acquire new 3D seismic before deciding which shallow targets may be suitable for drilling and testing.
  • Historical production of over 160 million BOE is presented as analogous information and is not an estimate of CanCambria’s reserves or resources.
