Ondas Inc. (Nasdaq:ONDS) and Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:PLTR) have announced the formation of Regna AI, a standalone private company focused on developing and deploying mission-specialised, fine-tuned artificial intelligence models within customer-controlled environments.
Announced on October 12, 2026, the venture is powered by Palantir and initially wholly-owned by Ondas. The companies said Regna AI is expected to scale with institutional partners and serve governments, businesses and other institutions seeking sovereign AI capabilities for mission-critical operations.
Ondas will be Regna AI’s first customer. The company plans to use fine-tuned models for autonomous mission orchestration at the edge, including in environments where connectivity is denied, degraded, intermittent or limited.
The models are intended for use within customer environments and on edge hardware. The systems identified in the announcement include drones, stratospheric balloons, ground vehicles, surface vessels and command-and-control nodes used for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations.
According to the companies, the capabilities are intended to help operators evaluate evidence, compare available options and propose updates to mission plans. Any proposed changes would remain subject to human review and authorisation.
Palantir will provide model-training infrastructure and support delivery. Regna AI and Palantir will also work through forward-deployed engineering teams to adapt the technology to customer workflows and requirements.
Regna AI will use Palantir’s AIP and combine open-weight models with customer-controlled mission data. Ondas Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Eric Brock said the arrangement is intended to give defence organisations control over the AI supporting their missions.
Alex Karp, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Palantir Technologies, said sovereign AI trained on mission knowledge and tradecraft can reduce dependence on frontier models. His comments were part of the companies’ description of the venture and its intended operating model.
The new company will build on Ondas and Palantir’s existing collaboration on SkyWeaver C4I. The companies describe that programme as an open-architecture capability combining surveillance layers from the stratosphere to the tactical edge.
Embedded agentic AI and edge processing in the programme are intended to provide an operating foundation for Regna AI’s mission-specialised models across multi-domain and degraded-connectivity environments.
Regna AI is starting with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance applications. The announcement says it plans to expand into other mission areas, as well as security, critical infrastructure and industrial markets.
Ondas said it is seeing significant demand for sovereign, mission-specialised AI capabilities. The companies said governments and defence partners face challenges in using commercial AI while protecting sovereign data, including restrictions on moving mission data across security boundaries.
Ondas and Palantir cautioned that forward-looking statements in the announcement are not guarantees of future performance. They said those statements depend on assumptions and remain subject to risks and uncertainties that may be difficult to predict.
The risks identified include the ability to meet customers’ specific needs, whether the platforms and systems perform as intended, software and implementation errors, system reliability, and customers’ ability to modify or terminate contracts. The companies also said they are not undertaking an obligation to publicly update or revise forward-looking statements except where required by law.
Ondas announced the formation of Regna AI with Palantir Technologies Inc. Regna AI is described as a standalone private company powered by Palantir and initially wholly-owned by Ondas, with the aim of helping governments and enterprises develop and deploy mission-specialised fine-tuned AI models within their own sovereign environments.
Regna AI is intended to help customers develop and deploy mission-specialised fine-tuned AI models within their own environments. Ondas will be Regna AI’s first customer, deploying fine-tuned models for autonomous mission orchestration at the edge, while Regna AI will also work with governments, businesses and institutions.
Regna AI’s models are designed for deployment within customer environments and on edge hardware. The announcement names ISR systems including drones, stratospheric balloons, ground vehicles and surface vessels, as well as command-and-control nodes operating in denied, degraded, intermittent or limited (DDIL) connectivity conditions.
The capabilities are intended to help operators assess evidence, compare options and propose mission-plan updates for human review and authorisation. Ondas says the models will support mission-critical operations while keeping deployment within customer-controlled environments.
Palantir will provide model-training infrastructure and support delivery. Regna AI and Palantir will also collaborate on forward-deployed engineering to tailor and adapt capabilities to customer workflows and needs.
Regna AI will build on Ondas and Palantir’s existing collaboration on SkyWeaver C4I, described as an open-architecture capability integrating layered surveillance from the stratosphere to the tactical edge. The announcement says embedded agentic AI and edge processing provide an operational foundation for Regna AI’s mission-specialised models in multi-domain and degraded-connectivity environments.
Regna AI is initially wholly-owned by Ondas. Ondas says the company is expected to scale with institutional partners, and that it will work with Regna AI and Palantir to scale the platform and support initial customer deployments over the coming months.
Regna AI is beginning with ISR and plans to expand into additional mission areas, security, critical infrastructure and industrial markets, according to the announcement. These plans are attributed to Regna AI and are presented as extending its potential opportunity beyond defence.
Ondas develops and deploys autonomous systems, robotics and mission-critical technologies for defence, homeland security, public safety, critical infrastructure and industrial markets. Its platforms include autonomous drone systems, counter-UAS technologies, robotic ground systems, advanced unmanned aircraft and propulsion solutions, demining and engineering systems, and integrated sensing and communications technologies.
Ondas shares trade on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol Nasdaq:ONDS, as stated in the announcement. The release also identifies Palantir Technologies Inc. as NASDAQ:PLTR.
Ondas says it is seeing significant demand for sovereign, mission-specialised AI capabilities. The announcement says governments and defence partners face a choice between accelerating with AI and protecting sovereign data because commercial AI providers own the models they train and mission data cannot freely cross security boundaries.
Eric Brock, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ondas, said Regna AI combines open-weight models, customer-controlled mission data and Palantir’s operational platform to give defence organisations control over the AI supporting their missions. He said Ondas believes Regna AI can become a foundational AI platform for the U.S. Department of War, allied governments and defence and industrial companies that serve them.
Ondas and Palantir caution that the forward-looking statements are not guarantees of future performance and are subject to risks, uncertainties and assumptions that are difficult to predict. The risks listed include the ability to meet customers’ unique needs, platform or system performance and reliability, software and implementation errors, and customers’ ability to modify or terminate contracts.
