NextTrip, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTRP) has released preliminary results for its fiscal second quarter and six months ended August 31, 2026, alongside an update on its travel and media operations. Six-month revenue rose to $1,998,422, while second-quarter revenue fell to $546,687 as the company focused on NextTrip Pro enhancements and the consolidation of JOURNY TV and GoUSA TV.

#Revenue and deferred revenue

Revenue for the quarter was $546,687, compared with $757,648 in the prior-year quarter, a decrease of approximately 28%.

For the six-month period, revenue increased approximately 122% from $896,475 to $1,998,422. NextTrip also reported approximately $1.2 million in deferred revenue at quarter-end, supported in part by cruise-booking activity.

The company said deferred revenue is generally recognised when the related travel or service is fulfilled. It therefore is not necessarily an indication of revenue that will be recognised in a particular future period.

#Management explains second-quarter performance

Chief Executive Officer Bill Kerby said the quarterly result was below management’s expectations because NextTrip prioritised product development and platform consolidation instead of maximising near-term revenue from existing offerings.

Kerby said the company expects these activities to support its move towards broader commercialization, although the announcement describes the related commercial contribution as dependent on launch schedules, customer and advisor adoption, advertising demand, campaign timing, travel fulfilment and event execution.

#JOURNY TV and GoUSA TV consolidation

NextTrip has brought JOURNY TV and GoUSA TV together under a single brand, operating platform and technology stack. The work covered branding, programming, content licensing, technology and advertising operations, with related integration initiatives substantially completed after quarter-end.

The combined infrastructure is intended to support content management, scheduling, connected-TV and FAST distribution, advertising technology integration, inventory monetization and reporting. NextTrip said the system can track measures including minutes watched, platform and geographic performance, advertising impressions, fill rates, revenue generated per thousand impressions and overall advertising revenue.

#Audience and Samsung advertising metrics

JOURNY TV recorded more than 307 million viewing minutes from January through August 2026, averaging approximately 38 million minutes per month. Reported on-screen viewing time exceeded 30 minutes.

The service is distributed across more than a dozen major platforms in approximately 100 countries, with estimated potential global reach exceeding 250 million viewers. NextTrip noted that potential distribution reach is different from measured viewers or viewing minutes, and that the January-August viewing figures exclude YouTube’s contribution.

Following a July 2026 transition to a new advertising operations partner, average monthly Samsung U.S. programmatic advertising revenue increased approximately 668% in the post-transition reporting period available to date, compared with the January-June 2026 monthly average. Average cost per thousand advertising impressions increased nearly sixfold.

NextTrip said these figures relate only to Samsung U.S. programmatic advertising and do not represent total JOURNY TV or consolidated company revenue. The company also said the results and increased inventory support projected calendar-year 2026 Samsung U.S. programmatic advertising revenue nearly doubling versus calendar-year 2025. That projection covers January-December and is separate from NextTrip’s fiscal-year reporting.

#NextTrip Pro rollout

During the quarter, NextTrip made further changes to NextTrip Pro, its business-to-business travel advisor offering. The platform combines NextTrip Connect, NextTrip Groups and NextTrip Ownership Rewards through a single-sign-on system.

The company said the offering is designed for host agencies, individual advisors and travel influencers, with functions covering customer acquisition, relationship management, group operations, attribution and travel booking. NextTrip expects to begin initial commercial rollout and advisor onboarding activities during the third quarter.

#JOURNYGO, YADA and NextTrip LIVE

NextTrip has completed the beta phase of JOURNYGO, a content-to-commerce tool connecting travel programming with AI-assisted discovery, planning and bookable travel options. The company plans broader deployment across additional shows and distribution platforms during the third quarter.

NextTrip also expects its controlling interest in YADA Commerce and the first YADA and NextTrip LIVE event and concert initiatives to begin contributing during the third quarter. The announcement identifies creator commerce, sponsorship, event revenue and travel bookings as potential areas associated with these initiatives, including the first music concert in November.

The company said NextTrip Groups is intended to support reservations, attendee travel and event logistics for future events and entertainment categories.

#Cruise bookings and commercial priorities

Cruise bookings continued to grow during the quarter and contributed to deferred revenue. NextTrip’s cruise platform provides access to more than 10,000 sailings across over 35 cruise lines.

For the second half of fiscal 2027, management’s stated priorities include the initial launch of NextTrip Pro, further JOURNY TV advertising and sponsorship activity, wider JOURNYGO deployment, growth in cruise, luxury, group and experiential travel bookings, and initial contributions from YADA Commerce and NextTrip LIVE initiatives.

NextTrip said it expects operating activity to strengthen and ramp during the second half of fiscal 2027 as it moves from integration and product enhancement towards commercialization. The company said progress will be assessed through measures including advisor onboarding and booking activity, JOURNY TV audience and advertising metrics, JOURNYGO engagement, cruise and group-travel bookings, and initial contributions from YADA Commerce and NextTrip LIVE.

#Further financial reporting

Complete financial results for the quarter and six months ended August 31, 2026, including operating expenses, net loss, loss per share, cash and liquidity information, are expected to be included in NextTrip’s Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q to be filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
