Jaguar Health, Inc. (Nasdaq:JAGX) said its family company Napo Pharmaceuticals will sponsor the 2nd Best of Elite Ped-GI meeting in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, including a panel focused on intestinal barriers beyond total parenteral nutrition. The panel is scheduled for October 30, 2026.

#Panel participants and meeting focus

The discussion, titled “Intestinal Barrier Beyond Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN),” will include Dr. Mohamad Miqdady, Dr. Christos Tzivinikos and Pravin Chaturvedi, PhD. Chaturvedi is Napo’s and Jaguar’s Chief Scientific Officer and Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board.

Dr. Miqdady leads the Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition Division at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi and is a Clinical Professor at Khalifa University's medical school. He is also a member of Napo’s Scientific Advisory Board.

Dr. Tzivinikos is Chairman of the meeting, a Consultant Pediatric Gastroenterologist and Founder of the Pediatric GI Department at Al Jalila Children's Specialty Hospital in Dubai. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Dubai.

The meeting is focused on clinical knowledge and practices in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition, with particular attention to parenteral nutrition for children with complex gastrointestinal disorders. Dr. Miqdady and Dr. Tzivinikos are involved in clinical evaluations of crofelemer powder for oral solution in pediatric intestinal failure patients.

#Jaguar’s intestinal failure programme

Jaguar said Napo remains focused on a global development programme for oral crofelemer as adjunctive therapy to parenteral support for rare intestinal failure diseases. The programme includes microvillus inclusion disease (MVID) and short bowel syndrome with intestinal failure (SBS-IF).

Jaguar said ongoing investigations of liquid oral crofelemer formulations in pediatric intestinal failure patients who had received oral dosing for more than one year showed substantial reductions in weekly parenteral support requirements and in parenteral support normalized to body weight. The company also reported no significant clinical or laboratory abnormalities in those results.

Data from ongoing investigational studies involving pediatric patients with intestinal failure linked to MVID and SBS-IF was presented at the 58 th Annual European Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition Meeting in Lille, France, in June 2026.

#Planned regulatory filing

Jaguar said its intestinal failure programme is expected to continue providing clinical milestones, including a planned New Drug Application filing for MVID in mid-2027. The company identifies this expectation as a forward-looking statement and said it is subject to risks, uncertainties and assumptions, including matters beyond Jaguar’s control.

A recent Rareatives article about a young child living with MVID highlighted the role of family perspectives, supportive communication and collaboration with clinicians in addressing rare intestinal diseases.

#About the Jaguar Health family companies

Jaguar Health describes itself as a commercial-stage pharmaceuticals company developing proprietary prescription medicines derived from plants from rainforest areas for people and animals with gastrointestinal distress.

Jaguar said Napo Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Napo Therapeutics S.p.A. focus on the development and commercialisation of crofelemer powder for oral solution for rare and orphan gastrointestinal disorders involving intestinal failure, including MVID and short bowel syndrome.
