NFI Empire, a wholly owned subsidiary of Newport Gold, Inc. (OTCID:NWPG), has provided an update on Project Reborn-001, a custom vehicle build progressing toward an auction at The Red Bird Games in Brentwood, Tennessee. Proceeds from the auction are intended to benefit The Brett Boyer Foundation.
#Modern donor platform added to classic truck build
Copart, Inc. (NASDAQ:CPRT) provided a GMC Sierra 3500 Duramax platform for the project. The donor vehicle supplies the chassis, drivetrain foundation and other key components for the build.
NFI Empire is combining that platform with a 1979 Chevrolet K30 crew cab. The firewall and floor from the contemporary truck are being integrated into the vintage cab, allowing the project to use the modern frame, Duramax diesel drivetrain, suspension and amenities while retaining the exterior style of a classic square-body truck.
The company says the vehicle is also undergoing work spanning its sheet metal, interior and technology systems, including a hand-stitched leather interior.
#Auction plans and project updates
Project Reborn-001 is being prepared for a live auction at The Red Bird Games in Brentwood, Tennessee. The release does not provide an auction date, auction price or projected amount of proceeds for The Brett Boyer Foundation.
NFI Empire says further progress updates will be issued as the build moves toward the auction. The project remains under construction, and the auction has not been reported as completed.
#The Brett Boyer Foundation
The Brett Boyer Foundation is a Nashville, Tennessee-based nonprofit founded in 2017 by Ellen and Bo Boyer in memory of their daughter, Sadie Brett Boyer. The foundation supports awareness and research related to congenital heart disease, while also assisting families and providers dealing with a congenital heart disease diagnosis.
The organisation also works to celebrate the dignity and capabilities of the Down syndrome community. The foundation states that 50% of babies born with Down syndrome fight congenital heart disease.
